CRASH
The date is October 29, 1929. I am 25 years old, working as a nurse in the largest hospital in New York City. I always hear from Daddy and Momma, mostly always good things about the twins and the market. Today was not a good day. Apparently, the stock market had crashed. The Gold Standard had ruined it all. Life is going to go down-hill and I am terrified of losing my first real job. I will not be posting for quite sometime, I will be working hard to make a living... I am so scared... Daddy says that the toughest times of all still lie ahead of us, and Daddy NEVER speaks of such absurd things. I will leave you with this, readers, the times that come to the country now will shape the future of America... Thanks for stopping by.
President Harding
Hello there! It has been quite some time since I have posted, Daddy has been keeping me busy in my studies. It is August 2, 1923; and a sad day at that. President Warren Harding died today. I, of course, knew of his illness, which started in late May. And yet again, I heard all the news from Daddy, who hears basically everything. He is so intelligent. But anyway, President Harding was a good man, Momma liked him for sure. Daddy has been so busy lately, making more money than ever, so I didn't yet get the chance to ask him what he thought of the man. Other than that, life here is great! The twins just celebrated their birthdays, getting the same present as always; stocks. Thanks for stopping by!
Lincoln Memorial
Today is May 30, 1922. Daddy came home with very exciting news; apparently some large building is under construction in Washington D.C. called the Lincoln Memorial. I'm so excited about it! President Lincoln was my favorite president, mostly because he thought that everyone should be treated equal, and did everything in his power to make sure that our country understood what was right and wrong. Daddy is a lot like President Lincoln. He scolds us when we do wrong, always teaches us values and morals, and treats everyone how they should be treated, no matter what. We traveled to the countryside two days ago... It is so beautiful out there. Daddy saw some little children on the side of the road and gave them some water to drink. It was so dusty, of course, the road was not even paved, but simply dirt. I was so shocked at how people live out there. I bet they are so nice though. That is all for today, thanks for stopping by!

Yankee Stadium Troubles
Today is May 5, 1922. Apparently, some gigantic structure is being built for the Yankees in the Bronx. Daddy has been so upset by this lately, because he has been arriving late to work because of it. He gets home later too, and then Momma gets in a tiff. She always has dinner ready and waiting for him, that way she can get the twins to bed on time. Then when the twins don't get to bed on time, they're also cranky. Seems like I'm the only happy one around this place! Especially because I heard Al Jolson's Angel Child on the radio today. That is all... until next time, thank you for stopping by!
Who Am I?
Hi there! My name is Bridgette; Bridgette Forest. Today is April 24, 1922. I live in a small little town right outside of New York City called Bloomingburg so that Daddy can travel to work. I was born on October 7, 1904, so that makes me 18 years old. Momma doesn't like Daddy traveling so much, but he makes a pretty penny. Momma's real name is Norma Jean Wilson, but she took Forest as her last name. Daddy's name is William Andrew Forest. He's so smart. He handles money all the time, so we always eat well and are dressed nicely. Momma stays at home with my twin brother and sister, Thomas and Erika. I am a senior in high school, with dreams of becoming a nurse or doctor. Although, sometimes, when Daddy is home and he plays the piano, I dream of becoming a famous flapper or singer. My favorite song is My Mammy by Al Jolson, but I like it better being sung by me. I think I can sing alright. Sherlock Holmes, a film that just came out, is supposed to be the best of the year. I'm not so sure... I really enjoyed Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in 1920. That's all for today, thank you for stopping by!
